What is Adult Day Care?
Adult day care is not a new concept but
one that has been around for many years, yet it's just now
receiving attention as our population ages and people's needs
increase. Adult day care provides age and ability-appropriate
activities in a safe, supervised setting for persons with
special needs. Persons with dementia
(Alzheimer's Disease, Pick's Disease, Post-stroke dementia,
vascular dementia, and other), physical disabilities (multiple sclerosis,
heart disease, post-stroke effects, hearing or visually challenged,
and other) or otherwise elderly or isolated will find an array
of activities to choose from and companionship amongst their
peers.
We also provide basic health monitoring
of nutritional needs, weight and blood pressure. Our on-site
nurse is happy to assist you and your doctor by monitoring
changes in each person's participation, dementia-specific behaviors, medication issues, and other. We continually evaluate our services to address the changing needs of our clients and their caregivers. Adult day care allows the caregiver much
needed respite from the 24/7 job of caregiving. At Bradford House
Adult Day Service we work with your schedule to provide you
respite on the days and times that you need in your week.
