Skagit Adult Day
Care began its service to the communities of Skagit County
in 1992. Dr. Winifred Bradford, M.D., recognized a need for
at-home caregivers to have respite from their 24/7 responsibilities
and put her idea of an adult day care into motion. She formed
a Board of Directors and brought Liz Wedner on Staff as Executive
Director. The first location for Bradford House Adult Day Service was
in the basement of Burlington Lutheran Church. 2 years later
they moved the growing program into the Burlington Community
Center. Kristi Huffman, L.P.N., joined the Staff in 1994. As the program grew they were able to purchase their own building. During the Open House celebration our Board of Directors dedicated the building "Bradford House", to honor Dr. Winifred Bradford and her husband, Lester Bradford, not only for founding the day care but also for their years of volunteer service. From its inception, Bradford House Adult Day Service has provided a high standard of excellence in activity programing and caregiving for your loved ones.
